The Rugby 1st Team is ready to support you, your business or career and our Game. Our three Directors are:

Angus Stewart

Angus Stewart – is an experienced international entrepreneur and business builder with a passion for creating and nurturing businesses in the global marketplace across diverse industries.

Having spent the last 20 years living in Hong Kong, he has developed a deep understanding of Asian business and culture and Australia’s place in our global region.
 
With a committed interest in the value and potential of the individual, Angus has dedicated much of his time to mentoring young entrepreneurs and professional sportsmen and women both here and in Asia, helping them to transition.
 
He is an expert in the art of delivering personalised guidance to assist the elite athlete in establishing their place after professional sport and fulfilling their post-playing career goals.
 
Mentoring is Angus’s passion and a focus.
 
From his life in Rugby as a player, club administrator, coach & father of three junior players, he is now well and truly committed to the development and promotion of Australian Rugby.
 
Alex Lyus
Alexandra Lyus is a professional Senior Conference, Incentive and Event Manager. She had a successful career in advertising and TV production in Sydney and New York prior to establishing On Q Event Management Pty Ltd in 2000.
 
Since then she has enjoyed long term relationships with blue chip corporate clients and has organised international and national conferences, special events, incentive travel programs, exhibitions, roadshows, product launches, media events, team building, fundraising and gala charity functions for some of Australia’s largest companies and most respected NFPs.
 
Her firm belief in the connection of Rugby and business was well established in her days working with John Eales on the concepts and delivery of his JE5 post-playing events, including the Sydney RWC Captains Dinners.
 
With a passion for philanthropy and a finger on the pulse of the Australian business market, she also owns on Q Event Management – Corporate Event Strategy & Consultancy; M.A.D. Club – Make A Difference – Australian Businesswomen Connecting & Giving; and C-Change – Confidential, Practical, Creative Ideas & Solutions for C-Suite Execs and Businesses.
Christopher Serow

Christopher Serow is Principal of Legal Minds Pty Ltd. Based in Armidale, and practices throughout Australia.

He is Solicitor Director, Migration Agent and Notary Public with the large firm he established. A confessed Rugby tragic, Chris not only brings his knowledge and love of the Game to the Rugby 1st board, but his extensive broad legal expertise and a deep understanding of compliance and issues regarding NFP and charitable organisations.

Chris knows grassroots Rugby and provides great insights into the regional and rural Game, opening doors wherever he travels.

For twenty years Steve has been proud to work within the recruitment industry. His career journey started by running a temp labour desk, and he has always enjoyed learning from those who have knowledge and experience to share. From the start of his career, it was evident that his passion and skills were perfectly suited to business development. To this day, he firmly believes that you cannot ignore hard work and cut corners if you wish to be successful in life, this especially rings true within business development.
